Born in 1974. Waseem Khan comes from the
great, Lineage of traditional musicians amongst whom, Ustad Faiyaz Khan, Ustad Ata Hussain
Khan, Ustad Vilayat Hussain, Ustad Sharafat Hussain Khan, Ustad Latafat Hussain and many
more well known maestro who brought fame to the Agra Gharana.
Waseem took his Initial talim from his
maternal grand father late Ustad Ata Husain Khan at the tender age of six, later he was
trained by his father late Ustad Naseem Ahmed Khan son of late Ustad Basheer Ahmed Khan.
Waseem gave his first public performance at the tender age of ten. He, at present is a
scholar in S.R.A (Sangeet Research Academy) under the able wings of Agra Gharana mastreo
Ustad Shafi Ahamed Khan a senior Guru in the Academy. Waseem had performed in various
important concerts and has shared a same stage with greats like Gangubai Hangal, Shahid
Parvez, Bhajan Sapouri, in Spic-Macay’s programme.
